Blankets, sheets (seasonal) – DKS will blanket horses. Blankets are provided by the owner and should be clearly marked.
Supplements – If desired, owner supplies supplements. DKS will mix in grain.
Pasture Boarding includes:
Quality round bail hay
Automatic water troughs
Blanketing/sheets/fly masking (seasonal)
Minor cuts, abrasions: Should your horse incur cuts, initially, DKS will treat with appropriate medication. If follow-up is needed, owner is responsible. However, arrangements can be made with staff to handle follow-up if necessary.
Colic: DK staff will call vet, follow his/her instructions, and notify owner. Baniamine will be given orally (if instructed by vet) and stay with your horse until the vet arrives. Upon owner absence, DK staff will be present for vet appointment.
Owners must give DK staff authority to call a vet and make medical decisions for the benefit of their horse in their absence.
Farrier and Vet appointments – If you cannot be with your horse for these appointments, DK stables must be notified in advance.
Medical maintenance – leg wraps/medications can be administered, please be sure to notify DK staff, if necessary.
